Loving Kind from George Toledo on Vimeo.
No vid, just a picture I took, and a song made of pieces of "Loving Kind"!
I bought an album on the cutout bin years ago that was the original Fleetwood Mac playing live... Peter Green/Danny Kirwan era. So many great songs, but Loving Kind has long been a fav.
So, I decided I'd totally screw up one of the awesome songs and make it horrible. Seriously though, I've had it around and enjoy it, so I thought I'd share.
One of the fun aspects is what sounds like a flute riff (to me), that was totally constructed of a very odd harmonic overtone that happens on the recording at one point.
The riffs have a cool swing, and it was a little weird to make it lilt right. I just like the way that the parts interplay, and when the guitar riffs break in. I used some octave doubler stuff for that first guitar break, and broke out a tape machine and space echo for some of this.
